Numerous well-signposted routes, side routes and connecting paths run through the entire Pitztal and make mountain biking in Tyrol in the Pitztal a very special experience. Differences in altitude, levels of difficulty and path lengths can be planned and selected according to individual ability and condition.

Some tips for mountainbike tours
Mittelbergweg (easy)

Start from the public parking lot in Mittelberg. To enjoy the breathtaking view on the terrace of the Gletscherstube over the valley and the Gletscherbach, you only have to overcome 160 meters of altitude. The technically very easy route and the good quality of the gravel road also gives beginners the opportunity to bike the overwhelming feeling in the middle of the mountains. A route for in between, which can also be done well after a mountain tour.
Pitztal Bike Route (medium)

The Pitztal Bike Path is like a lifeline for mountain bikers through the entire valley. All connecting tours can be reached from the Pitztal Bike Path, meaning that every tour can be planned on a mountain bike path from the desired location in the Pitztal. Despite the route in the valley area, the 42 km are not to be underestimated and are peppered with slight inclines. The Pitztal Bike Route can also shine with some technical passages, which can, however, be avoided by moving onto the LAndesstrasse. If you decide to take the route from Imst / Pitztal station to Mittelberg, you can count on 6 hours and a considerable height difference. The route from Mittelberg to the Imst / Pitztal train station is much easier and takes around 4 hours. If you prefer to shorten the tour, the valley-wide hiking bus is of course also available as a bike bus.

Arzler Almweg (medium to difficult)

Start in Plösmes at the Gasthof zur Einkehr (parking spaces available). Almost without a break, the 3.7 km route to the Arzler Alm is decent. With an average gradient of 13 percent, despite the dense forest, which protects against excessive sunlight, you can sweat a bit. The condition of the mostly gravel roads is very good, but caution is required when driving downhill, especially in the hairpin bends. From the Arzler Alm you have a great view of the surrounding mountains.
